Plan a fresh planted look with the Potted Assortment Plant Box from Richards Bay Pet Shop. Choose from the Short plants, Tall plants, Carpeting mix or Rsb select options in this 10-plant listing. A separate 120 mixed plants option is also available; check your selected option before ordering. Ask our team to confirm the included varieties and their suitability for your aquarium.

Planning your layout

Choose positions based on each plant's full-grown size and care needs. Taller varieties can go towards the back, with smaller plants nearer the front. Leave swimming space for your fish and room for plants to grow. The varieties and sizes included are not specified in this listing.

Getting your plants ready

Gently unpack, rinse and inspect each plant. Ask how each variety should be planted before removing its pot or packing material. Rooted plants and plants attached to rocks or wood need different handling, so avoid burying every plant in the same way.

Light and plant food

Use suitable aquarium plant lighting on a regular daily timer. Different varieties can need different amounts of light and nutrients. Ask us whether the assortment suits your equipment and which aquarium-safe plant food to use. Follow fertiliser instructions rather than adding extra.

Simple ongoing care

Keep up with regular partial water changes, remove decaying leaves and allow time for plants to settle. Check the temperature and water needs of the included varieties before adding them. Plants do not replace a working filter or water testing.

Will the box suit my fish?

Some fish nibble plants or dig them up. Tell us your tank size, lighting and livestock so we can help check the assortment. If you keep shrimp or other sensitive animals, ask about any treatments used on the plants. Do not assume the box is snail-free or free of treatment residues.

New to planted tanks?

Keep new plants separate for observation where practical. Let the Richards Bay Pet Shop team help you check the contents and plan a layout that suits your setup. Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.
