Sailfin mollies bring movement and character to a spacious community aquarium. These jumbo fish are supplied at approximately 7–12 cm, so give them plenty of swimming room alongside planted areas for shelter.
Keep them in a mature, filtered aquarium with stable, warm water. Mollies prefer harder, alkaline water; regular partial water changes help keep their environment healthy. Feed a varied diet of quality flakes or small pellets, including vegetable-based food.
Choose peaceful tank mates comfortable with the same water conditions, and avoid aggressive fish or fin-nippers. If keeping males and females together, provide more females than males and be prepared for fry.
